To be "saved" one must do far more than most people have ever realized! "Believe on the Lord  Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved", is the Bible answer (Acts 16:30-31), but what does that mean?
When as a child you believed your mother, it meant you would listen to every word she said, would heed it, and that you would take her opinion against all outsiders,--for her you knew and believed.  So if you believe Jesus Christ it means
--You will search to know every word He ever spoke on any subject;
--You will heed it (DO IT), and,
--You will take His opinion over and against all outsiders.  In other words, we cannot separate belief and conduct, people just WILL act as they sure enough believe.  In a building which they really believe to be on fire, they even injure one another at getting out.  So if I really believe Jesus Christ, I simply will do all that He says.

WHAT DOES HE SAY DO?

For one thing, "Repent of sin" instead of continuing therein under plea of grace!  If I believe Him, I just will turn from all I know or feel to be wrong or worldly, even if I do not see how it is, when He says in His word that it is.
He says to be baptized in water, and if I really believe Him, this I will do, howsoever others may object that wet clothes clinging to the body are indecent, for every time water baptism is described in the Scriptures, it is a burial in water.    (Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12)
  He says for us to "tarry until endued with Power from on High" (Lk. 24:49 and Matt. 28:20), and  every time such Baptism is described, it is linked inseparably to the Holy Spirit's speaking in a language not known naturally or by book-learning, by the one now so endued or baptized. And "endued with Power from on High" is not enduement with natural powers which most ministers have and take to be from on High, but it means power to live the Truth from on High! This, also I will do however any  argue that such command was only to the first  apostles, for we read in Matt. 28:20, that they were to pass on to all people all things He ever commanded them to observe.
  Again, He says we "shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matt. 4:4).  Then if I really believe Him, I just will study much daily ALL HIS WORD (not just a few portions thereof), for myself.  I will see to it that I personally read every word of both Old and New Testaments, meditate upon every word of both, and continue to do this over and over, steadfastly and systematically, all of my life, daily.
