"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today,
and forever!" (Hebrews 13:8)
BEING BORNE BY THE HOLY SPIRIT,
THE HOLY MEN OF GOD SPOKE!
Beloved, there was and is such a thing as being so clothed upon with God that it is not man acting or speaking but God! How sweetly have we seen this in these days of Christ's banishment!
When there was no natural evidence of the thing to be seen, we have oft-times seen anointed ones caught up in the Spirit and heard there announced events and situations (sometimes years ahead, at others only a day beforehand) that came to pass, exactly as foretold and described or heralded! But not this at Churches--there the Spirit of Christ is called "the flesh" in these days of Apostasy! And yet, it was ever so.
God's Prophets are ever stoned and rejected by them to whom they are sent. But what companionship here! The Holy Spirit, God's manner of working in this Age, is none other than the only one God yet dealing with us. He speaks (Jno. 16:13), He testifies (Jno. 15:26), He commands and forbids (Acts 8:29; 11:12; 13:2, etc.), He prays in intercession for us but through us (Rom. 8:26; Jude 20), He can be grieved (Eph. 4:30) or blasphemed (Matt. 12:31-32), He loves (Rom. 15:30), He guides (Jno. 16:13), He teaches (Jno. 14:26), He reveals things to come (Jno. 16:13)!
O glorious church ministry does He exercise throughout the present age (but only in "the church which is His Body"). With other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people: and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord! (1 Cor. 14:21). Decry and denounce this manifestation as we will, the New Testament declares it is "with" them, and it declares "will I speak . . . SAITH THE LORD." As to the way in which His speaking exactly as He foretold for our day will be taken by the professing Church, He adds, "and yet for all that"--after all of God's foretelling that this would be HIS OWN MANNER OF SPEAKING UNTO MEN, foretold by both Old and New Testament, "will they not hear Me, saith the Lord"! And it has happened as this Prophetic Word of God declared.
A BRIDAL REQUIREMENT FROM PSALMS
Psalm 15 is answer to the question of its first verse--
Jehovah, who shall sojourn in Thy tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in Thy holy hill?
